I'm going to install a new shower stall for the first time so go easy on the rookie, but here are my questions. 1) After removing the existing tile is it necessary/recommended/discouraged to tape and mud the seam that is created when installing the new backer board? The tile that I am removing does not go all the way to the ceiling and I would prefer not to remove drywall all the way to the ceiling. 2) One of the walls goes all the way to an outside corner. Does the metal corner need to be replaced, taped and mudded also. Most of the work seems fairly straight forward, but small details still eluded me. Thank you for the help and advice
