I am in the home stretch of a bathroom model. A plumber roughed-in the supply/drain lines and set the tub. I had a slightly larger/taller than standard tub. He did a good job, but when he left he showed me how the waste and overflow drain that I had purchased worked, but the stopper did not go deep enough to block the drain. It is all the way extended on the threaded portion.

Has anyone heard of an extension for a PVC drain linkage assembly? If all else fails I will probably remove the trip lever drain setup and change out the drain/strainer to a twist-type.

Terry, Thanks for the reply, it is a Watts Overflow (see below). I emailed Watts, but they recommended installing a different overflow. If there is an easier solution (extending the linkage) I would like to try that first.

    Watts - Trip Lever Bath Drain - 4BN - 1 ½” white plastic tubing
    Plastic construction
    Trip lever-style trim
    MFG Brand Name : Watts
    MFG Model # : 4BN
    MFG Part # : 0145788

    I'm with them.
I would pick up one that fit.
If this over a crawl space, or someplace you have access to?
Normally if it's concealed, they like a solvent weld (glued) joint W&O

They also make drains with cables.

I just use a piece of brass rod, often a toilet tank ball lift wire, and fabricate an extension.
