Hi guys, my in-laws have a cottage on well water using 1" poly tubing and each fall have been cutting off approx 4" of the tubing to remove the pump for the winter.
Now the tubing is barely reaching the pump so the obvious easy solution would be to buy a 1" union and new tubing to extend but is there anyway to use threaded
fittings with barb connectors? As in can you have a threaded/barb fitting and turn the fitting causing the barb to turn in the poly or is that just asking for trouble?

I'm no plumber but I use PEX for work sometimes and I know all those fittings can turn without issues but I've never had any experience with Poly tubing before.

Just looking for an easier solution than cutting the tubing every year.
