double kitchen sink problems

When I let the water out in one sink it comes back up in the other one....any answers for this problem?

Your drain is plugged.....I had the same issue in an old double sink. It drained slow for years and often backed up into the opposite side. Eventually it stopped up completely. The pipes were galvanized and 50 years old. It took me about 3 tries to get it opened up with a small Home Depot hand snake. I eventually removed all the galvanized and replaced it with pvc right to the 4" cast iron main drain leaving the house......
