I just noticed that a 25 gpm pump that I am considering actually gets up to 32 gpm at 30 psi. So do I need to find a pump that stays under the limit all the way through the curve?

With a 40 PSI Cycle Stop Valve the pump can still do 32 GPM at 30 PSI. When you open up enough water outlets to use 32 GPM, the pressure will drop below 40 PSI and the CSV just turns into a piece of pipe.

Anytime the pressure is below the setting of the CSV, the CSV just opens up like a piece of pipe.
