Hello everyone,

This is just a quick question. The drain line below my bathroom sink is further down the wall than the standard Home Depot DIY P-trap "kit" allows.

In order to accommodate the fact that the P-trap at the sink side did not come up far enough to meet the drain tail from the sink, I added two 90° street elbows to raise the height of the wall outlet. This has effectively now created an S-trap.

Will this cause any issues? I'm in N. California.

Why didn't you cut the black pipe off a couple inches away from the wall, glue on a trap adapter and do it correctly?

Thank you for the replies.

I liked the idea of having extra storage space under the piping but I have redone it correctly per your collective guidance.

Actually, you will not have done it "correctly" until you get rid of that gray rubber contraption and put
in a real trap adapter.

Use a Tailpiece Extension and keep it legal. You have increased the depth of trap seal and hair and soap scum will build up. Just because Home Depot sells it does not mean you know how to install it.
