The connection where the threaded pvc fitting screws into my air handler was leaking. Replaced it and it still leaks even with generous amount of thread sealant.
What else can I try?y

How about a picture of what those PVC threads screw into. I suspect that fitting is where the leak is more likely.

This is the fitting on the air handler. I think it has always leaked... 4 yrs old. It was a show leak onto garage floor so I never tore up that area to look for it.

Clean the metal threads up really well with a steel bristled brush, and use a ton of teflon tape rather than goop as the sealant, see if it works any better.

I am wondering if the leak is not at the threads, but could it be around the outside of the metal thread piece?
