Greetings all,

long time lurker.... :):D

have googled/searched the archives here for the correct use of this fitting, but have not been able to find any info.

can this fitting be used on its side, [as shown in photo] with the combo wye branch now a vertical drain and the 3-3" branch a horizontal drain [to the right] and with a horizontal 2" trap arm/drain into the side inlet on the combo wye?

in other words, on its side, is the horizontal side inlet correct for the trap arm?

and if not, what is the correct use for this fitting please?

any comments much appreciated.

Thanks!

Theoretically, NO. 1. the 2" inlet does not have a "Sweep", and 2. the flow from the vertical pipe is flowing past the 2" inlet, neither of which complies with the code.

Just an undeducated guess-- maybe the big paths are horizontal and the small hole is a vent line? Guess not long enough sweep.

How about the line is used in the position shown, and the small line is used for a trap arm. The top hole is used as a BIG vent. :)
