    Greetings all!

Just wondering if anyone has any experience/opinions regarding this Caroma model?

We have managed to find a local supplier who carries the Toto Aquia II (500$)
and another that carries the Caroma Royale 305 RF (280$).

We have a small bathroom; the max dimension would be 28" to 30". This eliminated many other models, but it looks like these two brands have good reputations for quality/performance

    What do you all think?

The Caroma is a longer bowl in the bathroom, it takes up more space.
    Caroma round front 28-1/4" long
    Toto Aquia elonaged 27-1/4" long

The Caroma is louder and spashes water onto the seat.

Quality control is not quite as good.

The bowl does not stay as clean.

I used to sell a lot of the Caroma, until the Toto Aquia was brought in.
I sell a lot more of the Aquia now.

The long regular bowl of the Caroma sticks out pretty far.

    Thanks Terry!

I appreciate the feedback and upfront answers.

The Caroma does have a 4" flush though, and that 's another consideration I forgot to mention.

Does the Aquia II push as much solid waste as the Caroma?

Thanks so much for the info, these toilets aren't as well-known in my neck of the woods...

Performance is similar between the two.

I recommend the Caroma if you have medical issues.
Your stools are so large you need to break them up with a stick.
Don't laugh, it happens for some folks.

The trapway on the Caroma is not perfectly round.
    You couldn't flush a 4" round ball, or a 3" round ball.
Maybe if it was 2.5" it may work.
They forget to mention, that the trapway ovals at the upper bend.
When the EPA came out, we were able to plug the Caroma, but lucky for us, it was before the television station came out, so were were able to unplug it.
They were trying to flush a potato down, and one got stuck.

The outlet on the 305 is 3"

The flush valves in the tank are about 2" on both the Caroma and the Toto Aquia

The outlet of the 305 bowl is 3"
The trapway is not perfectly round though, so don't expect something 3" round to pass through.
It has some oval at the top bend.

    That's no laughing matter, indeed.

I'm just concerned about plugging either model.
This is extremely good information and quite frankly some sales folks @ the big box stores don't know/don't care about what they're selling.

Then again, my usual plumber didn't see the point of trying a dual flush and added that they always install AS and Crane models with no problems.

Obviously, I had to go elsewhere to get some answers.
    Thanks very kindly Terry!!
