Hi,

I have a gas line that runs from the basement into the backyard. In the backyard it comes up through the sidewalk. It is shut off with a ball valve in the basement, but it is not closed at all outside. I'd like to cap that outside pipe, since we do not use a backyard grill.

The pipe is threaded, male.

How should I do this?

Thanks for any advice!

Of course the proper and more professional thing to do would be to remove the pipe back to the T where it originates and cap that.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
