I have an old roman tub from the 80's with no access from underneath.

I have what appears to be an old Bedford Series RT6-448P I'd like to replace with a chrome model different than the RT6-448 series. It seems the simplest would be Q15-350. It appears that both use the same rough-in, so am I correct they should be interchangeable?

Also, I'd like to change out the handles with something other than acrylic windsor handles. I've attached a pic of the valve stem. I'm thinking it's 910-523 but can't say for certain. Any suggestions on what I might be able to do to open up my options to replace the handles?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide!
