If i install santee above old glue it will be too high and flow up. I can raise the sink if i have to. I had hoped to install P-trap with threaded coupler on drain so was higher but the threads on sink drain will not allow a abs coupler to screw on. Same size/pitch but maybe this is normal? So u cant screw couper to it or maybe its just this drain...idk. Had idea to use acetone to melt threaded coupler so would thread but seems a bit crazy. I could also try to sand them down on abs but not sure if that will help. Or get a new sink drain if its just my sink drain as got this on ebay cheap for garage.
But if I can install that santee over the old solvent I think pitch of drain would be fine. Will it seal or no way? I can sand down a bit. I also have to deal with getting santee in there but assume I can get upper pipe to flex enough. If not a good idea I will have to raise sink an inch or so.
FYI this is drain line for bathroom sink on other side of wall that I am tapping into.
TIA.

Not positive, but I don't think it was designed to be done that way! The threaded tailpiece is designed to connect to a tubular pipe, and you'd normally need a piece of pipe between the sink and the trap.

The drain in the wall is too high for this sink.

You're supposed to connect the a recommended tailpiece to this sink, which should be available from the manufacturer for its threads.

The purpose of the tailpiece is to prevent some serious backflow that can occur from the natural water level of the trap. Because the trap level is so high, your sink will drain funny, and may appear to be clogged from just running the tap.

The tailpiece can be cut as short as possible, but you still need it, that way the bottom end of the tailpience will go into an ABS slip-on, and not a threaded female that you have incorrectly there.

I did actually have it in there just flush so you couldn't see it. But caused p-trap outlet to be below santee inlet. This may night be right but is was best option.

The thread in the drain is a "rolled thread" and was NEVER intended to screw into a fitting. It is designed for a flanged tailpiece and slip nut. A "sink plug" adapter will have the captive nut and washer that you need.

Well it clearly is not done right but it works.
A longer tailpeice and lower drain would have been ideal but i did not want to raise the sink or drill thru that beam. It drains ok and will work to be able to wash my hands in garage.
