I had a residential Peerless 63 steam gas boiler installed a year ago November 2013. I could now purchase a 5 or 10 year extended warranty. They have no documentation or pricing info at their website, saying you have to get this from the local installer. Is such a warranty worth the money? There are service contracts from more than one company that charge about $15/month for most any problems and an annual service check-up.

Depends on the company that does the service. And if they can back a product.

Sears is still best by Far, Contrary to popular belief.

If you can work on electronics , Then you can do your own repairs on the safety systems.

Good Luck.
