Our master bath was remodeled 5 years ago and we put in Danze Sirius faucets. We noticed that black goo was collecting at the spout opening and in time the metal corroded there as well. Danze replaced the corroded spouts. A year later no corrosion yet, but we still get the goo. The Danze Parma faucet in the hall bath does not have this problem. Is it the style of the Sirius causing this? I don't want to spend $ replacing the faucets if they're not causing the problem. Thanks for any information.

It sounds like some kind of black mold. I would take it apart and thoroughly clean it in a strong bleach water solution. That should solve your problem.
