pressurized sewers
I already posted earlier and thought of something else...
You must have what is called a pressurized
sewer, where the pump has to pump the crap uphill
to the street, ect.....
I will hvae do that at my house someday when the city sewers
copme though. and force me off the septic
anyway, you might want to check into what kind of
pump you already have in that pit because we have
installed a number of those heavy duty pumps over the years...
and never, ever had a problem with them handling some grease..
its either a matter of the wrong pump, or it could be too small
a container pit that the system is dumping into.....
if the pit is not a large commercial one, I have seen the walls of the pit
literally grease up to the point that its allmost encased the pump.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
another alternatve is to add a small grease trap under the kitchen sink or
somewhere in the line if you got the room.
also, tell your wife to stop pouring bacon grease down the drain,
stop useing the garbage disposal so much, possibly eliminate it all together.
or scrape the foods stuff off into the
trash instead of into the disposal....that could eliminate the problem or at
least delay it for longer periods of time
you will most likely not do any of the above,
so just figure on cutting that access hole into the top
of your pit and get a heavy duty wet vac
specifically for that job.
good luck ...have fun
