I am finishing a new bathroom and have drain lines that were plumbed into the concrete slab years ago. The never-used toilet flange is in perfect shape and plumb, but was installed about 1-1/4" below the slab surface; now, with tile added, it's at 1-3/4" below. I was thinking of using a Set-Rite flange extension kit which can raise the flange 1-5/8", and then maybe an extra-thick wax ring. (The Set-Rite folks told me I could have the flange slightly below the finished surface with their product, so maybe I can use a standard thickness ring?) Is there any better way to do this than what I'm thinking?
