i need a new spout for my bath/shower and was wondering what kind of spout should i get? Would any generic spout work? (danco at home depot) or should i
look into bigger brand spout.

Get a nice sput that you find attractive and does not look like a piece of crap. How is your current spout attached to the pipe coming out of the wall? That is also something to consider if you just want a quick fix replacement.

Spouts are generally installed one of two ways: screwed on, or push on. You really need to look and see what you have. While any one could be used, depending on what and how much is sticking out the wall will determine what is easiest. I like the Delta with the pull-down diverter...from what I hear, it lasts a lot longer than some of the cheaper generic ones. I put one in at my mother's on recommendation here, and she's happy, and it looks good.

i believe the one i currently have is screwed on and is by price pfister (came with the house)... current condition of it is when i am using it for shower the spout leaks out water,
i think its due to all the minerals/calcium build up from the water... just want to see if spouts brand matter and if there is a recommended brand.

Your easiest replacement will be a spout EXACTLY like the one you have, since the attachment dimensions are NOT generic. Howerver, whether it will cure your problem depends on HOW you transfer the water to the shower head. Unless you push or pull something on the spout, the water will still drip after you change the spout.
