During remodel, plumber installed waste pipe for vanity sinks. The pipes run vertically through the floor instead of through the wall with a stub out. This means I will have to cut holes for waste pipe and supply lines in the bottom of my cabinet. That will be a pain, but the major problem is code prohibits S-traps. How do I connect a P-trap to vertical pipe without making it into an S-trap?

trap

You can't but if your code allows air admittance valves, you can install a tee in place of the elbow and then install the AAV on top of a short pipe riser. Then a conventional "P" trap would fasten to the side inlet of the tee.
