Are Unions *one time use*

Either if you are just taking it off for something and then putting it back on and or the *area* is completely overhauled, and you are modifying the existing line setups - Do you ever reuse a union ?

If one side is softer to conform to the latter, once it *shifts*, then in theory, it may not seal as well as it should have .

Just redid the plumbing in the mechanicals.....I replaced the unions with a new one.
Was wondering how you guys do it in the field.

I don't use unions very much, but if I pull a flex connector off say something like a water heater, it gets tossed. I don't reuse them.
