Andre Collection Compatible Faucet Questio

Hi there - we are attempting to replace our two wall mount Andre Collection (yes you read that right) faucets in the master bath. They were installed through our contractor on a remodel in 2007. Research having been done, we have discovered that the Andre Collection is VERY limited. We would like to switch to something a bit more mainstream, like Moen, Kohler, Delta etc. Our plumbing company tells us that we need to stay with the original brand or tear up the wall to redo the plumbing. Aren't there some sort of converters that we can use on the plumbing valves to make AC compatible?

Whats the distance between the hot and cold wall supply nipples?

Andre bodies in the wall REQUIRE Andre trim pieces. There are NO "generic" parts that adapt to other brands, or vice versa.
