Hi, I'm a newbie to this, though have read several posts about toilets. My apologies upfront if this is not being posted to the correct spot.
We have four Am Std toilets, all made in May 1998; three Cadets, one Antiquity. All are horrible and clog frequently. Have finally had enough, and are going to replace all. Visited local Am Std showroom where I find out that shortly after our home was built and the present toilets installed, Am Std redesigned the toilets to include a siphon type of flush system. Then within the last couple years, I guess, they have come out with the two pc Champion and it's America's Best Flushing System "flush tower" which apparently does the job well (though I've read the posts about the flush valve leaking).
Now, as in just the last month or so, they have come out with a one piece Champion which looks a little nicer, is a little shorter overall, has the same flush tower system but a 3 1/2" flush valve as opposed to a 3" flush valve in the two pc toilet. Both have 2 3/8" fully glazed trapway, both elongated. The two pc model is "right height" or 16 1/2" seat height, while the one pc is 15".
Does anyone have any experience with the new one pc Champion? Has the leaky flush valve problem been cured by Am Std? Many thanks for any professional experiences out there.
