Advice on how to take apart faucet sprayer?

Could use your help, please.

Have a Vigo kitchen faucet (VG02002CH) that has served well for a couple of years.

Problem is, when you press the bar on the side of the sprayer, it should switch from spray to stream and back again... and stay on the setting you leave it on. At least it used to. Now it gets harder and harder to get it to stay on spray. And it doesn't always stay.

I figured I'd take it apart and clean the diverter mechanism, but I can't get the sprayer open.

Any ideas? I've tried all sorts of pushing and twisting. Friction on the black part while twisting the chrome part. Etc.

They are not usually serviceable. Call Vigo and see if it has a "lifetime" warranty and if so, they should send a replacement.

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping that was not the case.

It is the BEST case if it is under warranty. Just unscrew the old one from the hose and attach the new one.
