Let's start with Thursday of last week.
A good night to go to the Tulalip Casino and dance to the Afrodisiacs.
I went with Cathy, and my two oldest kids, Jamie and Amy and Lisa.
Start with some mexican food at Todo's of Snohomish, and then to Marysville for some dancing.
Pretty fun night, got to sweat a little to the oldies.

Friday night softball, double header

softball_red.jpg

Showed up after work to play on my son's softball team. Most of the kids went to high school at Sammamish with my son, the one pictured above is a great short stop.

softball_jamie.jpg

Jamie in black, plays left center.
We split that night with one of the best teams. The other teams short stop wasn't anybody you should hit to. Too much range and too good an arm.

softball_lance.jpg

This is lance, something like 6'6"
Used to play basketball and football with Jamie.
I think he was a tight end in college.

My best hits were in the second game, it was time to get serious.
Afterwords we went to Palmer's and did some Karaoke and drank some beer.

Saturday afternoon, Lake Chelan

chelan_lake_2.jpg

We got to Cambell's Resort at the end of lake Chelan in time for lunch. This is the view from my chair at the resturant. Outside dining on the overhead walkway.

chelan_liz_shane_1.jpg

Liz and Shane.
Shane is Cathy's youngest son. During lunch, Cathy told Liz that Shane had learned to walk at a Lake Chelan resort.
So to be funny, I told Liz that he was two when he learned.

Later she came up to me and asked if maybe I was wrong, maybe it was like eighteen months. At least that's what I told Cathy she said.
After Cathy hit me in the ribs, I told her I was kidding.

chelan_lake_3.jpg

Cathy with Carisa and Travis getting ready for a little kayaking.

chelan_lake_4.jpg

Liz and Shane trying out the water too.

I did a little swimming and had a nice book to read.

Saturday evening, the wedding

chelan_cathy_3.jpg

Saturday was a wedding for Briana's friend Lindsey.
Here we are waiting for the limo to pick us up, a big long thing.
The limo was long.
chelan_terry_1.jpg

Me in the Limo.
I'm sitting here, and it's not even a funeral.
If I don't were the sunglasses, I blink.
I tried a bunch without the shades, but my eyes were closed.

chelan_carisa_travis.jpg

Carisa and Travis
The wedding was at Karma Winery.
I tried the White and the Cabernet, Mattawa grapes, my family had a farm in Mattawa when I was younger.
Some of you may remember Carisa and Travis from the Guatemala story two years ago when they were teaching there, and as an end of the year project poured some concrete floors for some of the families there.

chelan_liz_shane_2.jpg

Carisa, Liz and Shane.
Everybody looks so nice for weddings. That's right Liz, Shane was two years old when he learned to walk.
Ha ha

Saturday, later in the evening, the wedding

chelan_wedding_2.jpg

Lindsey with her dad, walking down the isle.
Her dad looked kind of sad.

chelan_wedding_3.jpg

Two of a kind they said, a good match.
Cathy's daughter Briana on the left in purple, rose, something not white, but I'm a guy and and not doing good on the color I guess.

chelan_wedding_1.jpg

Lindsey's brother kicking up his heels afterwords.

chelan_wedding_4.jpg

We danced in "the cave" for the reception.
Lot's of wine barrels in there, and music playing.
The older ones went home before midnight, the young ones came home at 3:00

Sunday morning at Blueberry Hill

chelan_blueberry_1.jpg

Cathy likes Blueberry Hill for breakfast.
Surrounded by farms and good food.

chelan_blueberry_2.jpg

See, no shades and I'm squinting.
I've now been blintzed. Blueberry Blintz'ed

chelan_jessie.jpg

One more picture from the wedding with Jessie on the left.
Jessie is heading to Africa for the next two weeks to help in a hospital.
He will be buying his own air fare over and donating his time.

Sunday afternoon, in Chelan

chelan_cathy_2.jpg

After breakfast, we say these nice lounger chairs on the dock. We couldn't pass this up.

chelan_lake_1.jpg

You can swim out to the ropes and sit on them.
The water is so clear, you can easily see the bottom in twenty feet of water.

I was here two years ago with my family.
My mother was 90 when this was taken.

Tuesday, back to work.

Tuesday was back to work, had to look at a job in Seatac.
Took some pictures, took lots of phone calls, it's been pretty busy.

Wednesday Morning, U of W hospital

Interesting day, go in for some testing.
Probing, yeah, that's what I was there for.

Got to see some funny things on the LCD screen with a bunch of people in the room. Normally I like the door shut for things like that.

Afterwards, I had my little meeting with the doctor,
Class three.
Maybe four, I find that out next week.

He said to not cancel my skiing season tickets though.

That night my kids and grand kids came over and fixed me dinner and watched the DVR of last Sunday's Seahawks game.
Hey, I notice that Jay Leno is on at 10:00, Sweet!

Yeah, a very interesting week.
Well, better set up the recorder for the high school football game between Skyline and a California team.

rainier_jamie_1.jpg

So while I was in Chelan last Sunday, Jamie and Lisa went hiking at Mt. Rainier.

rainier_jamie_lisa_1.jpg

Rainier is one of my favorite places to go in the Summer.

Jamie's GF Lisa

I'm kinda liking this shot.

Yeah, this guy puts a 110 pound Toto Soiree on his shoulder and runs up stairs.

Did you catch anything?

I'm always amazed at how easy it is to catch fish here in the US.

Awesome pictures. I never realized how beautiful the state of washington really is.

That shot of your son?

I'd be incorporating that somehow into the band, even though I know that is a "group" thing.

That shot is wicked slick and if you saw my physique,

that rock would of broke off and heading dooooooooooooooooowwwwwn.

Yeah, he's faster then I ever was.

Last weekend he played a softball tournament with my daughter, a Coed league.
He was one of 3 all stars that were handed out for the weekend, went 13 for 16 with three home runs, triples and doubles, he had two singles.

And then he wound up the weekend playing seven man flag, scored three touchdowns and got one pick.
He was named MVP for that days games with 24 teams involved.

I'm hoping that next years softball team I will have both Jamie and Amy playing with me.

Last night Jamie's band played at the Jet, a two hour set to end up the night.
Went on at 11:30 and played straight until 1:30
Ryan Rowland-Smith of the Mariners, the pitcher who won Saturdays game 2-1 over Texas came out with his GF and Jason Grilli from the Texas Rangers.
The Texas player wound up wearing one of the bands T-shirts.
Jamie's band has two more fans in Texas. Jason's dad likes the CD too.

Video of the game
