    Moen Motionsense cartridge replacement

So I’ve got one of these Motionsense faucets. Had it I for a little over a year now. Recently the handle started to slide around. Figured it was the set screw so check that, nope that was tight. Figured it was maybe the cartridge nut, but nope, that was right too. The cartridge will move around...

    Leaking Water Heater Drain Valve

So you’re suggesting don’t try to replace the drain valve? Unfortunately money is a real consideration right now. A boiler/indirect replacement is a big investment and we’re not sure if we can swing that right now unless we absolutely had to. So the $20 valve is appealing to buy us time if we...

    Leaking Water Heater Drain Valve

Right. That’s what I was thinking as well, but I’m afraid if I can’t get the job done quickly then we don’t have hot water until I can get the tank replaced. :-/

    Leaking Water Heater Drain Valve

My valve looks a little different than that one but maybe I’m missing something.

    Leaking Water Heater Drain Valve

So about 3 weeks ago I found my water heater drain valve is leaking. Not out the actual hose connection part, but around the valve stem. A very slow drip (small bowl will take a week or two to fill up). I’m considering trying to replace the valve assembly since it’s currently a plastic...

    1940's Bathtub Replacement

Great. Now I feel even more pathetic. LOL Do you just put it on a dolly and roll it out after you lift it out in one piece.

    1940's Bathtub Replacement

Wow. Isn't that a pain in the butt/back? I'm betting this bad boy weighs over 350lbs so I figured breaking it was the best option.

    1940's Bathtub Replacement

I'm considering renovating our hall full-bathroom myself. My biggest concerns are actually the tile (which I am going to sub out) and replacing the original 1940's alcove bathtub. Thankfully, the drain to the tub has already been replaced. I'll need to replace the feed lines (currently...

Replace Older PP Kitchen Faucet with a new Moen One

Got it out. Liquid wrench and some elbow grease got the last of the three. That faucet has a lot of plumbers putty on it! My guess is that it's about 25 years old or so. Now I'm trying got the new moen faucet installed. It's a 3 hole sink, so I have to use the wide place that covers the...

Replace Older PP Kitchen Faucet with a new Moen One

Basin wrench took care of the large nut and vice grips on one of the small ones The other small one won't budge so I think I'm going to have to try some PB blaster or something to get it to move I think.

Replace Older PP Kitchen Faucet with a new Moen One

Thanks Terry! I'll have to find a tiny tiny set of pliers for the outside ones. It's hard to see in the pictures, but they don't really seem to have sides. It's more of just a knurled nut situation it seems from what I can tell. Looks like a trip to the hardware store for the basin wrench.

Replace Older PP Kitchen Faucet with a new Moen One

Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere, but I am having a heck of a time getting a kitchen faucet off the sink. I am having a hard time getting anything around the main center nut and the smaller side nuts. Am I looking at having to get a large basin wrench for the main nut? The...
