Size of non-submersible pump... and tank?

Thank you! I will add that to my list. Any thoughts on the size of pump I need? and pressure tank?

Size of non-submersible pump... and tank?

Would it be clearer to say Yes, the pump house is built right on top of the cistern lid. The pump would be basically on top of the cistern. The cistern is a cement 1200 gal septic tank (sort of). I asked they give me three 6" or 8" holes and a manhole (although, so far only women have gone in)...

Size of non-submersible pump... and tank?

I'm not seeing if my replys get sent. I think I have the use of the word "head" wrong. This non-submersible pump will pull water from 8' down (inside the concrete cistern) and then send water through a 1 1/4"(?) pipe 280' (240' run with a 12' elevation [which mostly happens within a 20' run...

Size of non-submersible pump... and tank?

I like this!!! Thank you! I did reply, and now I don't see it. lol Plus, it shows I'm from Bothell. I did live there for 2 years 30 years ago. Now I live in Shelton, but my project is in Port Townsend. The well itself is around 270ft deep, but it has its pump up to the cistern. My neighbor...

Size of non-submersible pump... and tank?

Thank you!!! That is great! I am leaning hard on staying out of the cistern. So as I am getting older, a good quality pump/motor with good maintenance might be easier for replacement, repair, and cistern cleaning. I am thinking 1HP? to pump 250 feet with an overall 12' rise by the end. 1" to...

Size of non-submersible pump... and tank?

I have a 1200 gal cistern shared with a neighbor who uses the submersible pump. I like the above ground so I can manage maintenance and replacement more easily. From the cistern 8 feet deep the water will need to be pumped (all things considered) 280 feet at 8 GPM (peak). I am in a very mild...

    2 on a 1200 gal cistern, @ pumps?

I have a well with a submersible pump, pumping into a 1200 gal cistern. My neighbor, with whom I share the well and well house, has his submersible pump and water filters installed. I'm ready to install our pump. Our water will have to leave the cistern at a 4% grade going 300 feet (or 15 up in...

Before the Concrete Cistern is poured...

I looked into the Simple Pump and just couldn't pull it off. Very pricey. But we can use a generator to fill the cistern if need be, then just have limited water for a week that way. (2- 3 families) One house is slightly downhill 50 feet, 1-2 houses will be slightly uphill 350 feet. The one...

Before the Concrete Cistern is poured...

Thanks, which on demand submersible was my next question, but as for the spigot, the cistern is under ground. I think the hand pump will be great, just need to know if it should be right on the lid or off on it's own?

Before the Concrete Cistern is poured...

I saw this diagram posted. Thank you! And assumed the bucket was concrete and the supporting post was pvc, or stainless steel. That answers that question. The pump in the well is 1 1/2 HP and will be a few feet from the cistern, so it should pump directly to the cistern. I'm looking for the...

Before the Concrete Cistern is poured...

Hi, I'm new here and new to water system designing. Just bought 5 acres in a dry part of northwestern Washington. I have a 237 foot 10 gpm well with a new 1 1/2 HP submersible pump. I share this soon to be water service with the other 5 acres that was also just bought. They already are building...
