No cold water when water heater shut off

Smooky, that makes perfect sense. If the pressure is out of balance, so to speak, then the valve goes into kind of a shut down mode. And the reverse is true that if the hot water is shut down the cold also stops so one does not get an arctic blast of water!! All of the 6 shower and tub valves...

No cold water when water heater shut off

What prevents the cold water from exiting the valve? When the valve passes over the cold port shouldn't some water come out?

No cold water when water heater shut off

These are Moen valves and I assume that they are anti-scald? Since the kitchen faucet isn't anti-scald the cold would work there. Thank's Smooky.

BW water heater tank cracked? (pics included)

Please do check your house pressure. Although it seems some Bradford Whites have early failure rates for whatever reasons, they should be rated to at least exceed the pressure of your house supply unless you do not have a regulator, but the tank may burst if that was the case. Check your anode...

Which water heater brands are better?

Thanks, HJ. All of mine have lasted decades because of the good care that they have had. Anything will last a decent amount of time if the proper care is exercised! I may go with American Standard due to the lack of negatives I have heard about. But any heater i purchase will have an inline wye...

Which water heater brands are better?

Good Morning. First post here. I am in the process of researching tank type natural gas 50 gallon heaters. I have been installing my own for the last 30 years or so and have been using American Water heater group exclusively. They have been 100 gallon models and I get about 20+ years life from...
