    I'll assume for the moment that you're being serious and not making fun of the idiot (me), so why Sears as opposed to the original softener installer, a plumber, an electrician, a milkman, etc...? BTW - I shouldn't say city water - it is strictly speaking a MUD (if that makes any difference).
