    Found it There is an archaic magnet and ball assembly inside the float rod. The magnet slides up and down to let the ball either block water or let it in. If the tiny 1/4" magnet isn't set just right, it doesn't work. Apparantly, the new ones don't work that way.

    I cleaned the salt tank and, unfortunately, took apart the float tube assembly. Now it just fills the tank with water, when I manually regenerate the cycle. Any ideas?
