    Bad reversing valve??? Compressor?

Hi guys, Over the past two weeks my heat pump has been blowing cold air. I had a tech come out and replace the sequencer on my 5kw heat strip. Then he said the reversing valve was stuck probably between the heat and AC mode. This makes perfectly good sense to me, the cold air coming out...

Goodman CPLE24-1C Heat Pump. Bad defrost circuit board?

Here's my problem: On cold nights, temps in the 20's here in NC, my heat pump goes into defrost cycle but seems not to come out, blows cold air with no warm air returning. During the day, when the outside temperature increases, the defrost cycle works fine. i.e. goes into cycle for about 3-5...

    Thermal overload

Thanks Sammy! You're the man! There was a plug of clay/iron clogging the nimple. I had to use a hammer and a nail set to clear it. If I could only get rid of this sediment issue now. Thanks again.

    Thermal overload

Thanks Sammy. I replaced the switch last weekend but didn't think to clean the nipple. Is this a common problem with well water with high iron content?

    Thermal overload

Here's the problem I've been having lately. I have a 30/50 pressure switch and when the pump kicks on and the tank fills the pump keeps running, not shutting off at 50, but reaching about 80 psi and holding there for while before dropping. If I open a tap and let it run, the pump doesn't turn...

    Backwash Filtration System

Thanks Gary. I've been researching a few softeners. Is there a particular brand you would recommend? In all likelihood it will have to be installed in the attic, near the water heater, as there is only about 24" of clearance in the crawl space. Thanks for the input!

    Backwash Filtration System

When I draw from a tap the water comes out cloudy with a slight orangish hue, settling after about 4-5 min. Last year I had the water tested. Findings included presence of iron, sediments, a pH slightly on the acidic side. Toilet tanks are stained orange, as well as the inside of my...

    Backwash Filtration System

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone would recommend a multimedia backwash filter to treat colloidal clay in a private well? I installed a ge last march but I have to replace the filter (25 micron) every three weeks. Thanks

    Colloidal Clay

Thanks! I'll check out the web site. The filter I'm currently using is the pleated/fluted type. Scott

    Colloidal Clay

I have one of the larger GE SmartWater brands installed. I have been considering installing more in parallel. The 30 micron isn't 100% effective. Some still passes through. Just not enough to cause noticable laundry stains. I had a smaller micron carbon that only lasted a week. The...

    Colloidal Clay

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has ever used chemicals to successfully treat colloidal clay in a private well. My house is only seven years old. And it's been a major headache since moving in two years ago. The whole house 30 micron paper filter works well, but I have to change it...

    New Pressure Switch

I installed the new 30/50 yesterday before seeing your response. However, the pump/tank is now cycling as it should. Checked the air pressure in the tank while the gauge read 40psi and got a reading of about 38psi. No water leaking through the shrader valve. I also failed to mention that I...

    New Pressure Switch

Thanks Bob, My problem is that the pressure in my tank is dropping all the way down to about zero before turning the pump back on. Then it surges to about 80 and levels off to around 60 or so. I'm thinking it's either a clogged nipple or the pressure switch is bad or the tank is shot.

    New Pressure Switch

Does anyone know if it's possible to replace a 20/40 with a new Low Pressure LLC 30/50?
