    Hi guys, have a question about hotwater boiler system. When my boiler shuts off, there is a hammer sound. what can be causing this. System 12psi cool, and approx. 16-18 with boiler on. Thanks guys

    Hi guys Can you tell if there is a way to empty the water from an extra 60, that has ruptured. I think it will be very heavy trying to unscrew it, with the water on it. It is in a bad location. Thanks for any suggestions! Ed

    rust particles in bathroom sink drain

    Thanks jadnashau for your response. Unfortunately I can't see the pipe. There is no access to it. The only thing I can see is the waste connection. This is where I put the shop vac hose, and sucked out the rust particles. The house was built in the 20's, I'm guessing its cast iron.

    hi , trying to break up a clog in a bathrom sink. I tried using an augur, but only got about 2 feet in. Using a shop vac, I vacuumed out a lot of rust particles. Now its draining, but veryyyy slow. Any suggestions. Thanks

    Thanks hj, the reason i ask is because i have a 1/2" st 90, that is located in bad position. I can't get a pipe wrench around the male end of the fitting, which is connected to a tee. The female end is sticking up, but i fear that putting a wrench on the other end could cause it to break, if...

    Thank you all for your input. I was able to get to my son's house yesterday, and unplugged the the switch, and plugged the pump in directly...the pump started, and cleared the tank. Replugged the switch and pump and the toilet empied properly. The toilet is working fine...now how about...

    the toilet is vented. Haven't looked inside the tank yet, don't know what kind of switch was installed. There are two plugs at the outlet coming from the tank. thank you all for your input. It's rare to find this sort of system in this part of Chicago.
