    Zurn has apparently quietly stopped selling brass fittings for pex systems. Go to http://www.zurnpex.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=EfzxE69JmHg=&tabid=198, open the spreadsheet and scroll down. You will see "discontinued" next to the brass PEX fittings.

    Yes they are. They were sold by Uponor's wholly owned subsidiary, RTI, under the Plumb-Pex ("P-Pex") trade name. Click on the documents on that site for more info.

    I think Alumipex used to be rated for both potable and radiant but is now only listed for radiant. Has anyone used this stuff for potable?

    We are about to finish some plumbing in our home and were considering using a pex system. We live in Minnesota and have heard about brass pex fittings failing within a year or two of installation. They are apparently failing because of stress corrosion cracking. Does anyone know...
