Drilling a well. Going to need alot of advice.

Definitely don't contract a professional dowser if you like to spend money on dry holes. I recommend that you contact Mr. Alan Burgess @ 270-247-6658 burgessinc@wk.net. If you want tell him Porky recommended that you call him. I trust Alan.

Well problems, the saga and sanity check

Sorry to be so late in commenting! I'd have a qualified driller/pump installer pull the pump and test the well with compressed air. It won't be cheap but must be done to determine if the problem is the well or the pump.

    jet pump troubleshooting

With the limited information I'd say your holding tank is full of water. You need a bladder type tank or a Pside-kick.

constant air in plumbing after submersible pump change

It sounds to me as though the offence odor may be sulphur gas and the spurting may be the sulphur gas settling out in the lines and tank. In serious cases we've had to install a settling tank and sulphur release before the pressure tank to expel the gas.

Is it possble to drill your well like this?

State Regulators have to make money too! Even if they have no knowledge of what it takes to drill a proper well.

Is it possble to drill your well like this?

I know you're area and you need to use a trash pump (gasoline pump) and some Bentonite mud from Noland; Ferguson or Turf and Garden in your area. Mix it with your drilling water (it won't mix easily, you may need to use a paint mixer and a battery powered drill), dig a small pit (or use a...

    well pressure gauge

If the tank is 20 years old I'd remove it and consider installing a Pside-kick under the counter. The Pside-kick includes a new 5 gallon tank, a new pressure switch, guage and other required components. http://constantpressurekits.com/products/pk1a. The Pside-kick will give you constant...

New to wells and already want my own rig...

Everyone is right. . . you'll need a Florida Well Drilling license and a dependable machine. I teach well drilling however you would have to work for a licensed driller for a time to even qualify to take the examination. I do occasionally have equipment for sale but $5000.00 won't buy much of a...

    10gpm or 7gpm pump ?

valveman said it best! Install a Pside-kick http://www.cyclestopvalves.com/st-viewcat.php?cid=26. It includes a 4.5 gal tank (all that you need) and all components except the pump and related equipment. I would also recommend installing a Cycle Sensor...

    Shallow Well Problem

Galvanized driven wells last from 20 to 40 years. It sounds to me as though this well screen is partially plugged! It's time for a new well.

    Pressure switch replacement

Keep it Simple. . . Install a Cycle Stop Valve http://www.cyclestopvalves.com/index2.html. It'll extend the life of all your well/pump system. A Pside-kick http://constantpressurekits.com/products/pk1a. would be even better and it includes a new tank, pressure switch and all necessary components...

    Installing a deep well

Not to disagree with VAWELLDRILLER but a qualified air driller can install and grout the casing properly. If you feel that you can't trust your contractor and if you are qualified I recommend that you watch him through out the drilling and testing of the well or have a knowledgeable and trusted...

    Goulds Pump Pressure Problem

Go by your feelings! Some service people call themselves pump service people when in fact know very little about well pumps! Unless they are qualified Water Well/Pump "WWP" people. In Virginia and many other states the "WWP" on their license means they have taken a well drilling/pump installers...

Is there a play book for this type of system? Please See Pics

Rather than guessing, I suggest that you call Cluff Well Drilling Co; 6410 Center Rd, Traverse City, MI; (231) 946-4769. They have been around a long time and they may advise you over the phone without charging you. Tell them Porky in Virginia recommended you to call them.

Ok so I have this ancient Goulds shallow well pump...

That's a good old pump. The plumbing is a complicated mess! I'd simplify the plumbing and replace what I could with PVC. Since you are going to install a larger tank, I'd remove the AVC control and fittings from the side of the pump and plug it or install a street "L" and a pipe plug for priming...

    What Am I Doing Wrong?

I probably know the installer! Valveman said it best. The nozzle in the venture (jet assembly) on the end of the pump is probably plugged and Valveman advised you how to clear it. Once you get it working, you may want to consider installing a low pressure cut-off "Pressure Switch". Your pump...
