    Is my Desuperheater plumbed properly??

Both tanks are Bradford-White MI50l5DS13 manufactured in 1995. Here's a pic of the 2 tanks. Both are wired with 220 and cold water enters the near one first.

    Is my Desuperheater plumbed properly??

Unfortunately, I have no info on the fitting into the drain. The diagram in the Trane installer's manual shows a tap off the cold water inlet on the top of the tank going to the GSHP and back to the tank thru the drain. Both tanks have the same model #. The fact that this tank gets it water...

    Is my Desuperheater plumbed properly??

Sorry for the poor pic. I've attached a clearer, annotated one. As you can see, both the "IN" and "OUT" from the GSHP desuperheater meet at a tee connected to the water heater drain. Shouldn't the "IN" come off a tee at the cold inlet on the top of the waterheater? I can't see how any water...

    Is my Desuperheater plumbed properly??

Hi, I just noticed that my desuperheater on my Trane GSHP may be improperly plumbed. This might have happened before I bought the house or when the system was replaced 5 years ago. I have 2 50-gal tanks. Both are wired to the panel and the internal thermostats are set to 115F. Cold water...

GSHP open loop discharge well is overflowing

I thought sand/silt accumulation might be an issue. I'm hoping it can be removed. Also, the well water is hard with high iron content, so I'm wondering if deposits have built up over the years, blocking outflow. Again, the big question is whether the well can be reconditioned or am I stuck...

GSHP open loop discharge well is overflowing

I can't tell from looking down the well, but the original well report suggests there are inlets deep in the well.

GSHP open loop discharge well is overflowing

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll call them. I tried a few other well drillers in my area but most are poor at returning calls. I hope these folks are better.

GSHP open loop discharge well is overflowing

Thanks for your reply. Converting from open to closed loop sounds expensive. I have a gravel driveway that's about 200' long. The rest of the property is wooded with plenty of rocks (it's the Poconos). Any sense on whether this is enough space for a 4-ton closed-loop system? Also, does this...

GSHP open loop discharge well is overflowing

Hi all, I have a 5-year-old, 5-ton Trane T2GX open-loop geo unit. Our wells, however, are 27 years-old. The discharge well is overflowing within minutes of the unit turning on. The water level in that well drops about .5 - 1 foot/minute (1.5 gallons/foot in a 6" pipe?). Clearly, not enough...
