Did I buy the wrong part?

I have a peerless kitchen sink, not sure if the brand, don't know where to find that at. But I have been getting some major leaking from the sprayer hose so I decided to buy a new hose kit online.

RP54807SS is the kit I bought. After unpacking I noticed the end of the hose that I screw into the sink has a plastic piece on it. I fear it may not be the correct hose for this sink.

Also what is this plastic piece on the end and can I add anything to the sink in order to utilize the new hose?

That is a quick connect fitting, but we do NOT know if your faucet has a connection that fits it.
