And since these are press fit remember to use at least 4 bolts to hold it down. Other discussions here argue that flange works best when it goes above finished floor.

Interesting discussion. Preferred method is to have the builder repair it correctly. It that doesn't happen, just make sure the flange allows the toilet to sit flat on the floor. The wax ring will stop any water from leaking. I have testing wax rings for years and they pass just about any condition thrown at them. Get the heavy duty wax ring. We have seen wax rings last under a toilet for up to 30 years. There is no data on the rubber ones for that long yet. They test well and fit good but not a lot of data on how they perform over a long period of time.
