I wish to install a single dedicated receptacle encased in a weatherproof box and cover to power a new septic tank pump (20-amp dedicated circuit), and a pump malfunction alarm (15-amp dedicated circuit). I do not wish to use a double gang exterior box.
I would install two breakers in the panel, a 15 and a 20 amp breaker. I would of course run 14 -2 and 12-2 wire accordingly.
I intend to remove the "tab" on both sides (correct?) of the receptacle, and attach the Romex as if it were two separate switches. I would then pigtail the ground wires from the 12-2 and 14-2 wires to the ground on the receptacle. Is this correct?
Thanks.
