I am estimating that I sold approximately 120 million pounds of salt, and truth be told, both work basically the same. Hardness levels in ppm reading were within any testing variances. Sometimes the solar crystals would come in a little wet, they could bridge, sometimes the pellets would break down into a mush... the only real problems we had with salt was when people put in 50# bags of table salt. The fine grain salt would basically instantly clog the brine draw systems.

Potassium would make a testable difference, but since that was never the question... :)
