Hi everyone. I just had a new 300' hole put in this week. It produces 6gpm and the static level sits at 120 ft from the top. I"m looking at a 4" Grundfos wet end paired with a 2 wire Franklin motor. The pressure tank sits about 70' above the top of the well with a 40/60 switch. I'm trying to figure the best pump for this application. Thank you, Matthew.

Presuming the house is about the same height as the pressure tank.

Your distance to water is (120+70)= 190. You would want this to still pump some water if the water level dropped another 100 ft.

I would go with a 7 GPM 1 HP pump. I could see a 3/4 if the water is not expected to drop much. If you felt you needed more pump, maybe a 10 GPM 1.5 HP, but that is getting pretty big for a 2-wire pump.

I'd use a 1hp-7

The Grundfos/Franklin is a great combination.

I just got back from the Grundfos factory in Clovis, if you saw how they are made and the tight tolerances they are made to, you'd never consider another brand of pump. They are definitely the Rolls Royce/Bentley of pumps!

I would use a 10 GPM, 1HP (10S10-15). It will still pump from 300' with pressure, has fewer stages so it will cost less, gives more water per electric KW, and it will have less backpressure if you use a CSV.

2wire motors goes as far as a 1.5hp and Franklin pumps are the top notch in business followed by the best motors in the business.

Just Google "10S10-15 Grundfos". You may have to get the pump end and 1HP Franklin motor separately and put them together yourself. It is just four bolts and a cable guard, so it is easy to put together.
