New AO Smith XCV-50 was installed just one month ago. Vent pipe is connected to Y type connector along with boiler vent going into chimney. The problem is that the pilot light goes out approximately once per week. The contractor (very reputable) changed the pilot assembly and then the gas control valve. Still same problem. I am reading the countless problems people have with pilot lights staying on with water heaters but in almost every case those units are 10+ years old. This one is under 30 days old. What would cause the pilot to go out every few days on a new unit? It would be more understandable if it happened hour but not every 4-5 days. Makes no sense, if anyone has any clues, would be very happy to hear them. Thanks
