After reading most of the information on Cycle Stop Valves by Valveman, I agree that more than one check valve is more detrimental than useful.

My house in northern New Hampshire has a check valve near the pressure tank.

Anyone know if New Hampshire is one of those states that require a check valve near the pressure tank?

Thank you,
Ted

Who cares. Remove it after it has been inspected...if you have inspections.

Here is Texas, I believe they are 'required' but my well never had an inspection.

I removed the check valve after I installed my CSV

Inspections?

LOL

I've seen brand new houses get their final inspection for the C/O and the inspectors didn't pull the cap to see if the pump, casing and well cap are grounded back to the house. I doubt most would know a check valve from a union.........

What kind of pressure tank do you have? If it is not a bladder/diaphragm tank, you might need that check valve.

It's a bladder type tank. 10.7 gallons drawdown.

Well pump is, according to information on shutoff switch:
Goulds 7EH-03422
Franklin Electric 2 Wire Submersible Motor
1/3 HP Single Phase
230 Volts 4.4 Amps

I'm just thinking next spring I should get a new pump. It's now 35 years old!
It still appears to work OK though. At 30-50 psi set, it takes 1.5 minutes for pressure tank to fill.

Those were damn good pumps.

We pulled the same make and model last month, it had been in the ground since 1976.

Don't expect the new unit to last as long.
