A couple of weird product inquiries: 1) A shower head that's on a long (say, three feet) articulated arm, or semi-rigid gooseneck? I don't mean a flexible hose like a handheld, more like what you'd see on a lamp: http://tinyurl.com/omr4aqp or articulated like this Kohler faucet: http://tinyurl.com/k428b4p
Closest I've found is this Waterpik: http://tinyurl.com/kn5mccc But it's overall a bit short, and more than a bit ugly. I could mount it on some non-flexible extension to increase the length, but I have a feeling the resulting Frankenstein would be even less visually appealing.
2) A "remote" mixing unit? I.e., one where the shower mixer is buried wherever, and is controlled remotely by a wired or wireless interface. There seem to be a lot of hits in the U.K., but not much here in the U.S. https://www.google.com/#q=remote+shower+mixer
Application: I've got a "walk through" shower, which is basically hallway. For design reasons I won't bore you with, mounting the shower head or mixer controls through the walls is a no-go. So I'd like to have the shower head coming down from the ~8-9' ceiling, and mounted such that it can be pushed up out of the way. The controls could be free standing, or stuck to something with a magnet.
Before anyone asks: I dislike rain showers, as I have gotten used to a high-efficiency "standard" angled head that lets me get a back massage without having to submerge my head, and which uses very little water... Allowing me to stand there for long periods and do creative thinking about how to build the world's least standard shower.
