Do bathtubs on concrete slabs have “shower Pans”

Thanks Terry, I wont be using that company again. Leak detection specialists cut into the dry wall in closet and we immediately saw a severed metal run off pipe above the PVC and the slab. Plus he was sure the pipe in the slab was PVC before cutting into the dry wall.

Do bathtubs on concrete slabs have “shower Pans”

Sound like a stupid question but I have a leak from my shower drain that is getting into my AC ductwork one room over (yes duct work is in the floor) and I got one quote for a starting price to tear out tub and tear out slab as needed to replace what is assumed to be a rusted pipe. A leak...

Shower panel conversion connections adding a shut off valve.

I've completed a shower demolition in a HUD home I purchased. There apparently was a chronic leak behind the wall where drywall was originally installed and tiled over and shower pan was leaking as well. The tile was falling out into the shower floor at the bottom of the wall underneath the...

Help finding product name and manufacturer for a newer "hidden" shower drain product

John, 1982 grad myself. Big fan of Second City Television, Saturday Night Live (up through the mid '80s anyway) and of course Bob and Doug Mackenzie. Recently became a fan of Murdoch Mysteries from Netflix but they only have seasons 1 & 2 so far. The only thing that slightly bugs me about...

Thanks Jadnashua, Having the correct search term should help. I had not seen those before seeing that article in the Homes section of the local newspaper.

Help finding product name and manufacturer for a newer "hidden" shower drain product

I saw an article in our local paper a month or two ago about a newly introduced product line that created a kind of hidden shower drain. I researched it online and SWEAR that I bookmarked for later when I was ready to order one. Looked for the bookmark today and it is nowhere to be found...

Shower Pan confusion stand up shower make over questions

Thank you Jadnashua and johnfrwhipple. I appreciate your responses. While your responses are not in complete agreement with each other they represent two ends of a continuum. I am definitely not risking making my own shower pan. It seems to me to be the element of highest risk of failure...

Shower Pan confusion stand up shower make over questions

I'm currently rehabbing a HUD on a limited LTD income so I am trying to do all the labor I can myself. For major plumbing, electrical and anything natural gas related I call in the pro's of course but I replaced the hot water heater myself. I have lots of woodworking experience and tools so I...
