Condensing water heater - Considering an HTP Phoenix

I could install a neutralizer - I imagine that should take care of that issue. From what I can see reading the FL building code, there doesn't seem to be any requirement in chapter 28 regarding condensate drain (unless it's covered under a different section). How much condensate do these...

Condensing water heater - Considering an HTP Phoenix

My present water heater is installed in my garage, and the closest drain is a water softener drain that is located about 25 feet away. I am researching a replacement water heater for my existing one that is going on 7 years, and has never been serviced. Its a power vent 50 gallon 44k BTU and I...

    Water softener catastrophic failure

Yes - nothing else shifted at all, which is why I would prefer not to tip the tank....All I should have to do is to re-thread everything back on and screw it together. I have gravel in the bottom as well. Any recommendations for bleach to ensure I don't damage the resin? It looks like if I...

    Water softener catastrophic failure

Actually very easy to remove. I just stuck my fingers in and turned. I wantwa over tightening the head, I made sure of that! My biggest concern new is that the tank has been sitting like this for a week now. I'm concerned about stuff growing in it. Draining isn't an easy thing. I may need to...

Good idea!! I expect I will be ordering a replacement soon!

    Water softener catastrophic failure

We'li think we have a winner. So the public works guy came back today and confirmed my suspicions. His chart recorder captured two large spikes that occurred in a 24 hour time period. Both pegged the needle on the recorder, which was 100 psi. He took measurements at two other houses in the...

Anyone ever purchase from Canadian Water Warehouse?

I need a replacement water softener valve (valve only, and bypass manifold). They appear to have good prices, but wasn't sure if anyone has any experience with them. Their web site is: http://www.cwwltd.com

    Water softener catastrophic failure

Already did that - but this doesn't show water pressure over time. I did see spikes.... But, the logger that the city will install should provide a clear picture as to what is happening. Once we have the data I will share. Could the hot water heater cause excessive pressure on the line...

    Water softener catastrophic failure

Yep - Fleck 7000, which I've heard is now discontinued :( The city water department is going to come out and install a logger on my spigot outside the house for 24 hours. They are also going to stop by on Sunday and take a look at my plumbing to see if there is anything that is needed. We...

    Water softener catastrophic failure

This is the second time this has happened in two years. The first time it was under warranty and the seller exchanged under waterwar. This time I doubt it will happen. I'm guessing this is due to a pressure spike? Any feedback about this would be great. From what I recall the max pressure of...

    Uh oh.....something broke, bad!

That's what Dave from Ohiopure said as well - could have been a pressure spike. Is there any way to guard against those? I wouldn't think that the CPVC plumbing would cause that. Should I try and secure it to the wall?

    Uh oh.....something broke, bad!

From what I can tell - no. I didn't see any pieces in the top basket, luckily!

    Uh oh.....something broke, bad!

Now the question remains - do I need to drain the tank or should I be OK? The riser pipe didn't come up, from what I see. It was held in place by the top basket. I'm wondering if it's OK to leave the tank full until the new head comes, rather than dump everything out, try to capture the resin...

    Uh oh.....something broke, bad!

Doubtful that it is a knockoff - since I bought from a reputable dealer. He called back and said they would ship out a replacement control valve, with a return tag for the damaged one. Thank goodness for good service!!!

    Uh oh.....something broke, bad!

So my neighbor called around noon time today, and said I had a ton of water coming out of my garage. They shut off the water (luckily they saw it). Once I arrived home, this is what I found: I purchased this thing from Ohiopurewater back in Jan. I called them and talked to Dave today...
