    Speakman tub/shower valve HELP, PLEASE

Thanks, I don't think it's in there, but I'll give them a call tomorrow. Anyone else have any ideas, keep them coming.

    Speakman tub/shower valve HELP, PLEASE

I'm looking for replacement stems/spindles for a Speakman supply valve. Their plumbing specialist thinks this is a Flo-Free model made in the 60's to 80's. They don't make replacement parts for it anymore and said I would probably need to find an aftermarket manufacturer. Anyone have any idea...

    Existing tub/shower valve help.

I realize that and wouldn't have even consider it unless there were an individual unit shutoff. I've emailed my niece to let her know about the possibility of a license requirement. Glad I don't live in a condo! Thanks, again,

    Existing tub/shower valve help.

Thanks for the reply, Jim. Several good things to consider. Some I thought about. Some I hadn't. I've asked my niece if there is a water cutoff in her unit, but don't know the answer, yet. Does the licensed plumber apply when the shutoff is for the whole building or even if there is a...

    Existing tub/shower valve help.

I'm trying to help my niece, in another state, replace her tub/shower surround economically. The drywall was tiled at some point before she bought the condo and just realized it was caving in. This was unexpected and there's no money in her budget for a good remodel. Once everything is ready...

    bath/shower walls

Why wouldn't the wall kits made by Swanstone work? The installation says they can be applied to drywall. Home Depot special orders them. If someone knows of a problem, let me know mucho pronto, please. My neice needs an inexpensive fix to replace a crapo tile job on drywall in her tub/shower...

3 handle valve to single handle valve question.

I like your conviction. I need to check for the clearance issue and go from there.

3 handle valve to single handle valve question.

Apparently, Delta agrees the drop can be too much. They advise the drop from valve to spout be 8"-18" to avoid "shower-rise". First, I've got to figure out if the cover plate will fit above the new spout and still cover the existing holes. Even with your encouraging comments, it feels like a...

3 handle valve to single handle valve question.

Thanks for the comments. Delta said the 8" minimum drop is so water won't back up and dribble out the shower head when filling the tub. If the 5" drop isn't enough, I've wasted time & money on a new valve. The old tile can't be matched to patch existing holes if I move the single handle valve...

3 handle valve to single handle valve question.

I have a 3 handle valve in a tiled tub/shower and want to update to a single handle valve. The existing drop from valve to tub spout is only about 5" and Delta calls for an 8" drop. If I move the valve up to create the proper drop, the adapter plate won't cover the 3 handle holes in the tile...

    cracked American Standard tank F4058

Any Toto model would provide satisfactory flushing even if it is at the low end in price?

    cracked American Standard tank F4058

Thanks, Jimbo. I suspected as much. I knew it was old. Just didn't know whether parts were available. I figured this was the place to get the answer.

    cracked American Standard tank F4058

For reasons I cannot comprehend, a friend's toilet tank cracked for no apparent reason. It is a white American Standard #F4058. Is it reasonable to expect to find a replacement tank or will my friend just need to buy a new toilet? The location is Little Rock, Arkansas.

    lost in little rock

I'm leaning toward replacing the cast iron toilet waste line with pvc. I don't have enough room for the drop required for a 4 x 3 closet bend & flange. I was told to use a 3" street 90. The flange would fit on the outside. Does this sound like a good idea to those in the know?
