    Actually the laminate will be a floating floor so I guess the rigid foam is out since I do not want to add plywood. Also, I think I will use a 10 mm high density cross laminated polyethylene instead of the 6mm....the 10 mm is better manufactured and resists more wear...here is what I plan on...

    Dana, Does the XPS need to be secured in anyway? Do the seems need to be taped? Also, can I put the laminate directly on top of the fan-fold XPS?? Thanks again!
