Is a round brine tank preferable to a rectangular one?

A round tank is less likely to bulge from the pressure than a flimsy square one. That said, my square tank that I've had for 14 years doesn't bulge and has never bridged.

Interesting. Is bridging really a huge problem? Obviously, if it helps, i'll just get round lol.

From a purely theoretical viewpoint, a round tank is stronger, since the wall is in uniform tension throughout.
