Shower Rain Head

Just looking for some feedback on Rain Heads in a small neo shower (38 x 38).
Never used one but me thinks:
1) you'd have a hard time soaping up with the water running.
2) There may be more splash in lieu of a wall mounted directional head.

I love rain heads in a shower but they should be connected to a flow valve so you can adjust the volume of water. I just used a clients shower last week while working for them in Whistler and found that because this shower had no flow control the rain head was not as nice as others I've tried where you can really get a slow - rain like effect.
