What is the point of this question.
I believe in copywrite protection for inventions. Are you asking, since you would never buy one, being on city water I guess, whether someone can save a buck by buying black market parts?

Well, since I don't support black market parts being sold, the names won't be listed here.
There should be some protection for the inventor.

What is the point of this question.
I want to read the invention description in the patent(s).
It gives a thumbnail sketch of how the thing works, free of puffery. And since patents cost money the inventors have literally "put their money where their mouth is" so what's in the patent should be credible.

BTW, I used to work in the USPTO back when it was in Crystal City, VA.

Speaking of black market parts, this lady

says airplanes are full of them.
Some planes have auto parts in them-a new coat of paint and they're good to go. Some of these knockoffs cannot be detected by just looking, you'd have to test them.
Probably the FAA is furious with her.

Guilty as charged, yo' honuh!
I designed stuff for a living. That's upstream.
The consumer and the black market are downstream, at the end of the stream. :D

"The black market. . .becomes progressively larger in those areas where corruption, regulation, or legal monopolies restrict economic activity in various goods, services, or trading groups."
I guess 'legal monopolies' mean patents. . .?

And some of the stuff on "60 Minutes" is so cynical that I can't stand to watch it.
Pogo was right: the enemy is us.

This pretty recent patent

seems to be relevant.

Valveman designed and patented the CSV [his] and in the archives I recall seeing him post the patent and internal photos with detail descriptions. So no secrets there.

Its a modified pressure reducing valve, and jaquizzi and amtrol have and perhaps still make their version of it.

When he gets done with his turkey, he will very likely fill you in with the information, if you have not found it yet.

I just found this interesting version of a cycle stop valve - not using a variable speed pump, and with some features that could be great - IF they work and last. Have no experience with it.
