perhaps I am wrong, but I think that this thread has
already been writtten about already.....

if the new heater already has dialectric nipples installed in
it , how many people add the dialectric unions on top of them???

arent the nipples enough???

I dont feel that the unions actually do any good what so
ever except to clog up with corrosion....

opinioins please

I just put a copper adapter right on top of the dielectric nipple...
no problems to date.

customers and the internet

the reason I mentioned this is
I have a customer right now who has become
an internet "expert" and expects dialectric
unions installed on top of her dialectric nipples....

she saw that on the Rheem site.....

and she is also pissed off that I threw away the
little insualtor that goes over the t+ p valve....

they read something somewhere and then fight with you
over basically nothing.....

I wonder if it wouldn’t be a good idea for you to go on the Rheem site, and ask them this same question. She may have read something wrong, or Rheem might just give you an answer that makes you go huuuuum?

I see no point on having both. I quickly checked the site and found no info on having the two items together. I did not dig very far so if any one finds more info. Good for you. I am a strong believer of using the fewest possible connections. If you used both from the start would your customer be yelling that your just trying to charge her for stuff she doesn't need.
I think you got stuck with a customer that will look for reasons to complain no matter what you do or say.

basically that is the problem

I really cannot repeat the conversation that went on
between me and these two people...on line anyway.....

a husband and wife team.......

and they played me pretty good,

I suppose you have to have one like this to appreciate
the good customers you have every day.....
as long as it is not too often.....
